Description

Tora Petrol was founded in 1998 and its main line of activity has been designing and engineering of the service stations, providing and procuring equipment and supplies for the same.

The founders of the company have been serving the petroleum industry for the past 25 years of which the last 15 years has been in the liquid fuel handling and service station equipment. Tora implements and maintains an Integrated Management System certified by the Bureau Veritas for ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

The company employs a total of 105 personnel. There are 15 mobile field crews, each consisting of 3 members.  These crews are made up of specially-trained personnel, using large-size vehicles equipped with all kinds of technical tools, equipment and supplies ready for use in emergencies, 24 hours a day. 

The crews are experienced and capable of providing such services as:  cleaning of the underground storage tanks, gas-freeing, volumetric tank calibration, tank and pipe leak tests, hot taping, remedying pipe leakages, construction and installation of underground storage tanks and piping, design and installation of automation systems (including PLC controlled ones), ex-proof electrical installations and flammable gas detectors. There are at present 950 service stations equipped with fixed gas detecting systems by Tora.

Tora does periodic maintenance of this network of detectors, which is the largest of its kind in Europe. We have annual contracts covering 3200 service stations for periodic control and preventive maintenance of the site, the infrastructure, electrical installations, test the reliability of electrical grounding connections, tank cleaning, changing filters, etc.

As to the office staff, in addition to the design and engineering of service stations, supervising of construction, electrical, electronic and automation installations, they provide for the oil companies as well as for industrial enterprises having fuel storage facilities such services as materials and equipment procurement, installing the same, project-planning and consulting.

Tora does not only give service and install its products for major oil distributors; it also supplies engineering and equipment to the local OEM’s. (Dispenser manufacturers’ companies)

Tora manufactures fuel filters and main electrical panels. Some of our clients in the domestic market are as follows: BP, Shell, Total, Opet,Petrol Ofisi, Alpet, Akpet, Lukoil, Gulf, Petline, TP, Renault , Fiat, Ford, Toyota, Hyundai, Lafarge, Siemens, Dupont, ENKA, Thames Water, IDO (Istanbul Sea Bus), Uni-Service (Marina Service). To our customers abroad belong: Tapet Oil Company (Azerbaijan), Chevron Munaigas (Kazakhstan), TNK (Russia), Enka-Becthel (Aktau, Kazakhstan).

The lists of the companies whose products in Turkey are solely distributed by Tora are as follows: Alvern Media, B&K, Fiberlite, Franklin Fueling, UPP (Petrotechnik), PCL, Status Scientific Controls, Veeder Root, W.E.C., Wright ENG.

Tora Petrol was the winner of the following awards: Third Prize HSSE (BP&Bovis Alliance) 2000, Turkey; First Prize HSSE (BP&Bovis Alliance) 2001, Turkey; First Prize in Competition Global Ideas (BP&Bovis Alliance) 2002, Worldwide. Tora Petrol is member of PEI (USA), APEA and IP (UK).
