Equipment interconnectivity group IFSF discusses future direction

The International Forecourt Standards Forum (IFSF), a forum of fuel equipment providers created to work on unifying standards for connectivity in the business, is discussing its “future direction” as to whether it will focus “on either EFT or device integration”, the group said following its latest Technical Conference in Manchester, England.

The discussion about the future direction started during the second day of the event when special “breakout” sessions were offered for this discussion.

“Input from these two groups is now being analyzed and future plans are being formulated,” the organization said.

Other topics covered during the meeting included mobile payments for the service station as well as device integration.

Speakers represent organizations including PCI, MasterCard, Thales eSecurity, P97 Networks, Gemalto, Ingenico, Gesytec, Wayne, NCR, Petrotec as well as Conexxus, which was formerly known as PCATS. The organization said that recording of all presentations are available on its website.

The biennial conference, held on November 19-20, attracted its largest-ever attendance with 90 delegates from 67 companies, the organization said.
