English Español Cepsa to market lubricants in Paraguay through Montealegre

Spain-based Cepsa is partnering with Paraguay-based Montealegre to market its lubricants for cars, ships, and industrial vehicles with the aim of capturing some 15% of the market of this South American country which represents 35,000 tonnes of lubricant sold annually.

“This strategic alliance with CEPSA combines our country presence and marketing experience of leading international petrochemicals brands in Paraguay, with a global energy company with presence in several continents, at all stages of the oil chain, since 1929”, said Montealegre’s managing director Pablo Kalbermatten.

“All CEPSA Lubricants products are made in Spain using advanced technology, and we also count on the input of our research centre which acts as a lever for innovation,"saidCarlos Giner, Lubricants Managing Director at CEPSA.

With the start of this operation, CEPSA is now present in eight countries in South America, the company said. Cepsa sells 235,000 tonnes of lubricants, base stocks and paraffin products in more than 80 countries.

This agreement follows another recent accord in China with Apsis, a company belonging to the SAIC Group, Cepsa said.
