French highways to see 200 new charging points for electric vehicles

The European Union will contribute nearly five million euros into a program that will install 200 charging stations for electric vehicles on the main French highways, the EU Innovation and Networks Executive Agency said on December 15.

Last update:

The project will consist in three phases with the first one involving 200 new charging station installations in France, an agency statement said. The second phase will involve studies to try to replicate the network in other countries across Europe while the third will focus on building sustainable business models supporting the EV charging infrastructure, it added.

The project is to be completed by December 2015, the agency said.
