Vivo Mauritius officials say that special attention to stores is key to win awards

The management of Vivo Energy Mauritius, which runs 44 stations in this island nation on the Indic Ocean some 1,200 miles off Southeast Africa and which recently won an important recognition for operating the best Shell stations in a 16-country region, says the key to success is to give special attention to the convenience store service.

“We want our service stations to be a place where our clients will not just come because they need us but because they know they will find with us not just fuels but also everything else they could need. That is why we give special attention to the stores,” said Kiran Juwaheer, general director of Vivo Energy Mauritius.

Meantime, Krishnen Vencadachellum, responsible for the 44-station network of Vivo Energy Mauritius, added that the “encouragement” for providing quality service must reach absolutely all network members and all employees.

Juwaheer and Vencadachellum spoke after the Vivo Energy annual recognition award held in late December where one network, out of all the many fuel station networks that Vivo operates in region, including some 16 countries and 1,500 stations, wins.

The evaluation includes criteria not just involving product quality but also the health and security of employees as well as the respect for the environment, Vivo Energy said.

In addition, Vivo has one special program it calls the “Mistery Motorist” which allows it to anonymously evaluate each station and provides a special price in that category, the company said. Mauritius station operator Assen Mohit won the award, it said.

Vivo Energy operates in 16 African countries and operates a network of over 1,500 Shell service stations. It was established in 2011. The company has offices and operations in Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Morocco, Namibia, Senegal, Tunisia and Uganda according to Vivo Energy’s website. In Mozambique it has operations but not an administrative general office.
