Germany-based Mabanaft has new director to head its 500 stations starting this year

Germany-based Mabanaft, which runs fuel-related businesses through more than 100 companies in five continents, has restructured into three separate units “to be better positioned for future growth” and named dedicated directors to separately handle trading, retail and bunker. The retail director will oversee all its international stations network with some 500 locations.

The changes became effective January 1, the company said in a press release issued in December. Starting this year Volker Tiedemann is "responsible for the end-consumer business and the service stations” and holds the title of director retail for Mabanaft.

According to Mabanaft’s website, the company operates a network of more than 500 service stations in Austria, Germany, Hungary, Moldova, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Stations under the OIL! banner operate in Germany, Austria and Swizerland; the Staack Pooltankstellen stations operate only in Germany while BWOC Ltd operate in the UK and Tirex Petrol is active in Moldova, according to the company website.

Mabanaft is a division of Marquard & Bahls AG, Germany, a leading independent petroleum company which is privately owned. Besides service stations and bunker, the company is also active in heating-oil retail, lubricants and biofuels.
