Q8’s Tango fuel station network in Netherlands expands 15% in about a year

Tango, a fuel station network in the Netherlands bought by Kuwait’s Q8 more than a decade ago, opened its 176th station in December, according to a Tango news release in its website. Tango has expanded about 15% compared with October 2013, according to a comparison with previously released information.

Last update:

While the company did not provide the percentage growth, a release by the Kuwait’s News Agency from October 2013 said that at the time there were 153 stations in the Netherlands. That information was provided when the company announced at the time the opening of their first unmanned station on a highway.

The new station was opened in the Wolvega area and as in previous opportunities free fuel was offered to mark the event, according to the December press release.

Tango stands for “tank and go” as the network is unmanned and designed to help customers fill up fast.

Officials from Kuwait Petroleum International told the Kuwaiti news agency in October 2013 that Tango is a growing and very profitable business. "Kuwait Petroleum owns a fuel network in several countries of Europe which includes stations operating under the Q8easy brand.

Kuwait started decades ago to implement a strategy of having a fuel station network in Europe to help distribute products refined by Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and its subsidiaries from the oil and gas it extracts itself in the hydrocarbon rich territory of Kuwait.
