The majority of the companies associated to AOP (Asociación Española de Operadores de Productos Petroliferos) are integrated companies, carry out exploration and extraction of oil.
The petroleum products go through different refining processes in order to obtain products suited for the consumption.
The AOP distribute and market these refined petrol products in the Spanish market: gas oils, fuel oils (fuel used by ships and in certain industrial processes), kerosene (fuel used by airplanes), lubricants and asphalts.
