FAIB, the Italian Federation of Petrol Retailers (Federazione Italiana Benzinai) was established in 1963 by the operators of stations in the Emilia Romagna and Tuscany.

In 1970, together with other associations, FAIB founded Confesercenti, the Italian Federation of Commercial, Tourist and Service Businesses.

FAIB is the most representative association in the fuel retailing sector. Through the years, FAIB has defended and protected the rights and interests of Italian managers, signing professional agreements with oil companies and representing the petrol retailers at the central and regional public administration.
