At H2 MOBILITY Deutschland GmbH & Co.KG, we are responsible for the nationwide development of a hydrogen infrastructure for the supply of fuel cell-powered passenger cars in Germany. In fact, we are building for our mobile future: short refueling, great reach, clean and quiet. This is unique: there is no comparable entrepreneurial initiative worldwide that understands and promotes the introduction of emission-free fuel as a national task.

Our first goal is the operation of 100 hydrogen stations in seven German metropolitan areas (Hamburg, Berlin, Rhine-Ruhr, Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Stuttgart and Munich) and along the connecting highways and highways until 2019. With the ramp-up of vehicle numbers will follow another 300. We take over all operational tasks, including network planning, approval, procurement, construction and operation.

The hydrogen stations are preferably integrated into existing gas stations. The design is compact and relies mainly on standardized components for the dispensers, storage of hydrogen and compression. The hydrogen is usually delivered by trailer, stored at 45 bar and highly compressed for the vehicles when refueling to 700 bar. This task requires experience, time and considerable investment. That is why Air Liquide, Daimler, Linde, OMV, Shell and TOTAL have joined forces in H2 MOBILITY. The company is advised and accompanied by the associate partners BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Toyota and Volkswagen as well as the NOW GmbH National Organization for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology.

H2 MOBILITY receives funding under the National Innovation Program Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP) from the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) and from the European Commission in the Hydrogen Mobility Europe project, the funding from the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen 2 Joint Undertaking (FCH 2 JU, Grant Agreement No. 671438). The FCH JU is supported by the European Union Framework Program for Research and Innovation (Horizon 2020), Hydrogen Europe and the Hydrogen Europe Research Association.
