Forest glade for Rosneft Petrol Stations

To coincide with preparations for the Sochi 2014 games, Rosneft commissioned Minale Tattersfield to design their special highway sites featuring state of the art rest and food facilities. The brand name “Polyana” (meaning forest glade) and utensils symbol was created to communicate the difference between these special highway sites and conventional sites. The name and symbol is applied to the main identity sign and the restaurant building. To enhance the soft “foody” nature of the restaurant which sits next to the more technological petrol station, a wood effect was specified for the main architectural portal feature of the restaurant building.

After considering the range of cladding panels on the market it was agreed that ALUCOBOND® design panels should be used. The material is well known to local contractors and is sufficiently durable during the harsh Russian winters. ALUCOBOND® design combines individual decor surfaces with the advantages and quality of ALUCOBOND®. Individual decors can be realized according to the designer’s or customer’s specifications. A number of colour and graphic matches for approval were submitted to Minale Tattersfield to ensure both the client and designer were comfortable with the solution. The first prototype site has been built in Krasnodar in the south of Russia.

ALUCOBOND® plus has been developed exclusively for the higher requirements of the fire regulations in architecture. Due to its mineral-filled core ALUCOBOND® plus meets the higher requirements of the fire classifications; It is hardly inflammable.
