GDF Suez completes 1000 charges of LNG trucks in Europe

GDF Suez has completed its charge number 1,000 in Europe of a truck to transport liquefied natural gas (LNG) at its terminal of Elengy, in the Atlantic.

Last update:

GDF Suez said in a statement that the company started LNG activities in 2013.
GDF Suez loads trucks with LNG for delivery in two locations in France, one in Belgique and one in the Boston, in the US.
GDF Suez plans to open an LNG terminal in the UK in the summer of 2015.
Once the truck-tankers are charged, the LNG is delivered to industrial clients who are no part of the natural gas networks. GDF provides the actual charging service in addition to “solutions in price engineering, with GDF Suez trading”.

Considered cleaner and less expensive, LNG is increasingly used as fuel by trucks. It can also be an ecological alternative to liquid petroleum gas (LPG) or to heavy fuel oil for the ships, the GDF statement added.
