From April 13, 2024, all new charging stations must enable card payments. The reason for this is the EU-wide introduction of the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR). But what does this mean in concrete terms?

  • Public DC fast charging stations with a power of 50 kW or more must be equipped with either a card reader or a contactless payment option.
  • Charging stations with lower power require a dynamic QR code.
  • Connection to a backend system and secure data transmission are necessary.

And this is where we come in!

With the HecPay, we offer a separate payment terminal as a "kiosk solution" specifically tailored to AFIR.

  • Contactless and seamless payment for charging processes with debit/credit cards and payment apps like Google Pay and Apple Pay.
  • Compatible with all common charging station manufacturers.
  • Secure and certified integration into our backend solution HecCharge.

Our kiosk solution makes your charging station AFIR-compliant! Our HecPay brings all common payment methods to any number of charging points.

Contact us – we are happy to advise you on AFIR and future-proof charging infrastructure!
