Last update:

YPF has established its first charging point for electric vehicles (EVs) outside of a service station. The mobility company has partnered with Santander Argentina to install the equipment at one of the bank’s locations in Buenos Aires.

The equipment allows up to two EVs to be recharged simultaneously. This opening is part of the bank's sustainability strategy to lower its carbon emissions and become carbon neutral by 2050.

This new location joins the YPF Punto Eléctrico network, which already has 24 fast chargers located in strategic sites. The purpose of this network is to link three of the country's main cities: Buenos Aires, Rosario, and Córdoba, and aspires to have 40 charging points throughout the country by the end of 2023.

In addition, the opening is part of a broader alliance between the two companies. The agreement also includes the provision and financing for the purchase of energy-efficient equipment such as solar panels, electrical energy storage solutions and renewable self-generation.
