English Español Repsol aims to surpass 600 renewable service stations by 2024

The multi-energy company defines a new expansion goal and launches a pilot project in Madrid to grow its range of renewable products.

Last update:

Repsol aims to open more than 600 service stations with 100% renewable fuel by the end of 2024.

The company announced the new target as part of its sustainability strategy to decarbonize operations. Repsol currently supplies 100% renewable fuel at more than 60 stations, located in the main cities and transport corridors of the Iberian Peninsula.

Last May, the company achieved its goal of becoming the first Spanish group to offer 100% renewable fuel to its customers.

In addition, the brand is launching a new pilot project in three service stations with 100% renewable gasoline. With this, the brand aims to expand its range of renewable products.

"This new goal of more than 600 service stations with renewable fuels is proof of Repsol's commitment to increasing the range of sustainable technologies for mobility, which helps users to choose the one that best suits their needs," said Valero Marín, Customer General Manager at Repsol.

Renewable fuels are produced from renewable raw materials. Specifically, waste biofuels are made from organic waste such as used vegetable oils and agricultural and forestry waste that are not destined for food.

Repsol has been manufacturing and marketing biofuels for more than two decades, and since 2019, it has been incorporating organic waste in its manufacturing. Renewable fuels are already present in all service stations in Spain at more than 10% of the fuels sold, in accordance with current legislation.
