The 11 acquired sites add up to a total network of 40 locations for the Nebraska-based fuel retailer.

U-Stop Convenience Stores has expanded into Kansas with the acquisition of Shop Quik Convenience Stores’ retail network.

The news was known after the announcement from American Business Brokers & Advisors, which handled the sale of the assets. Its president, Terry Monroe, confirmed that this marks the Nebraska-based brand’s second state of operations.

According to Shop Quik’s website, all purchased locations sell fuel while five of them also feature quick-service restaurant chains such as Chester’s Chicken, Hunt Brothers Pizza, and Wild Cafe.

“With the addition of the Shop Quik locations, U-Stop aims to enhance the convenience and accessibility of its offerings for its customers in Kansas. The company is excited to become an integral part of the local communities and looks forward to contributing to their economic development,” said Mark Whitehead, president and owner of U-Stop.

Shop Quick opened its first c-store in 1983 and has sold its remaining locations of its once 20-site network. The deal brings U-Stop total retail network up to 40 locations between Nebraska and Kansas.

U-Stop was founded in 1959 and is currently a division of Whitehead Oil Company.
