Tokheim ProGauge, one of the largest suppliers of environmental and wetstock management solutions, has installed thirty-five 3D laser scans in the field in over fifteen countries worldwide. So far in 2017, the advanced system has completed more than 2,300 total scans of fuel tanks on sites across the globe, representing an increase of more than a third compared to those performed in 2016. With this outstanding performance, along with the portfolio of orders already secured, ProGauge will reach over 25,000 tanks calibrated by the end of 2018.

The 3D Laser Scan, an innovative automatic tank calibration system, provides an accurate strapping table for the console or point-of-sale. It is safer, faster and more cost-effective than the traditional method used. It is ATEX certified and metrologically approved.  This installed base is an important milestone for the growing product, which appears to be setting a new industry standard in the competitive Automatic Tank Gauging (ATG) market that is being widely accepted by the customer.

Stefano Scatena, General Manager Global ATG at DFS noted, “The 3D Laser Scan can produce a highly accurate set of results in the form of a tank table. The process is fast and effective, enabling the customer to get the full value of the device immediately, without enduring the long and costly interruptions associated with traditional tank calibration methods. The added benefit of improving safety on the forecourt is always well received by our customers as the 3D laser scan removes the need for a service engineer to empty and de-gas the tank, and reduces their time spent on site compared to classic wetstock calibration.”

Kurt Dillen, General Manager Global Systems at DFS added, “The 3D Laser Scan is a great success story for our business. We have observed rising demand for this product year over year and it is clear that our customers have welcomed this advancement in automatic tank calibration technology and all of the benefits that it brings to their forecourt business. The 3D Laser Scan complements the range of ProGauge consoles and probes, providing our customers with industry’s complete set of environmental and wetstock management solutions.”
